Welcome to Fridingen hydroelectric power station

Danube power plant near the confluence of the Bära and Danube rivers, commissioned in 1923. The water from the Danube and Bära rivers is dammed at a weir and fed to the power plant through a canal. The power plant is still in operation today and has recently been modernized. It most recently generated up to 4.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. With the help of new turbines and generators, it will now be possible to produce up to 6 million kilowatt hours of climate-friendly electricity in the future. This will provide electricity to several thousand people. (Source: Culture and Leisure Guide Issue 8, "Energy Then and Now," published by the district of Tuttlingen in 2022)
